Early Life
Vincent Keymer was born on November 15, 2004, in Mainz, Germany. From a young age, he showed an exceptional ability to understand patterns, strategy, and critical thinking skills that naturally led him toward chess. He began learning the game at age five, quickly demonstrating a maturity and depth unusual for his age.
Supported by his family and early coaches, Vincent progressed rapidly through Germany’s youth chess scene, consistently outperforming older and more experienced players.
Chess Journey
Vincent’s breakthrough came when he began competing internationally, where his disciplined style and strategic precision became widely recognized. His historic victory at the Grenke Chess Open 2018, against a field of 49 grandmasters, made global headlines especially because he achieved this result at just 13 years old.
In 2020, Vincent earned the title of Grandmaster, becoming the youngest German player in history to achieve it. Since then, he has continued to play in elite tournaments around the world, consistently improving his rankings and gaining respect from world-class opponents.
